2013 Regent Speaker's Forum presentsColt McCoyThursday, April 4, 2013 at 7:30p.m.
Colt McCoy, quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League, will be the speaker at the third annual Regent Speaker’s Forum. McCoy will be sharing his convictions and faith as he has journeyed from the College Football News Big 12 Player of the Year while at the University of Texas to being drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft.
On November 4, 2006, Colt McCoy threw his 27thtouchdown pass in a win against Oklahoma State, to take sole possession of the UT school record for the most touchdowns ever thrown by a quarterback in a single season. Subsequently, in the 2006 Alamo Bowl on December 30, McCoy threw two touchdowns against Iowa to tie the NCAA freshman record of 29 touchdown passes established by Nevada’s David Neill in 1998.
“At Regent, we strive to honor Christ in everything we do. We want our opponents to know that we are different because we live out our beliefs on the field or court,” Athletic Director at Regent Preparatory School Mike Christie said. “Colt McCoy is a great role model for our students because he is a successful athlete who has not compromised his faith. We are very excited about having him come to Tulsa. It will be a great night!"
